Our qualified technicians, developers, and IT help desk personnel are available M-F (and in emergency cases) to provide comprehensive remote connectivity capability or on-site technical assistance to Regional affiliated practices. Our IT staff is certified to provide installation, maintenance, and training on the following components of a practice's IT infrastructure:
- All computer hardware
- All Regional approved and installed software
- Practice management software
- Telecommunications equipment
- Network connectivity
- VPN / remote connectivity to office systems
THE DATA CENTER
At the Regional data center, the operational heart of the IT system, the servers and data are maintained in a climate controlled environment. Data is backed-up daily and backup tapes are stored off-site at a secure and fully redundant colocation facility. The system is protected from power outages using an APC® Symantra battery backup and voltage control system and a diesel dedicated generator. What does this mean for your practice? You can rest assured that your practice's data is secure. Safe guarding your data is a responsibility we take very seriously.

ELECTRONIC MEDICAL RECORDS (EMR)
Regional Women's Health Management has teamed with Abraxas EMR and GE Centricity to deliver a fully integrated, EMR product to all of our affiliated practices. Through these partnerships, practices gain access to a comprehensive solution with fully developed templates. Rollout of the EMR product began in 2008 to our practices with great success. Regional affiliated practices pay only the costs for hardware in their offices. The Abraxas EMR product is CCHIT 2008 Certified -the latest certification by Certification Commission for Health Information Technology. Practices who adopt EMR are also eligible for the government subsidy for EMR implementation.
WIRELESS NETWORKING AND BROADBAND
All of Regional's systems support the use of wireless tablet computers that are broad band capable. Physicians have real-time, up-to-date information about their patient’s lab results, prescriptions, radiology studies, anywhere at any time. We work with our physician's primary hospitals to provide connectivity in various places throughout the hospital so access to data is easy. Our IT professionals will also install wireless network access points throughout our EMR enabled offices in order to make the use of tablet computers possible.
